When it’s feeding time you won’t hear her pawing on the gate or hollering about. When you go in her stall to feed she isn’t mowing you over to get her hay or to run out the gate. My favorite thing about her is you would never know she’s a mare! You can tie her beside another mare or gelding and she does not cause a problem. She stands quietly and minds her business. She is great out in the pasture and can be turned out or left in a stall. She is very easy to catch as well. Out on the trails she is very sure footed and has a nice forward walk that is comfortable to ride so you don’t have to peck and kick the whole time you ride. If she gets too far ahead of your slower friends, no worries just pull her to a stand still and she will patiently wait until they get there. She crosses water, logs, brush and trenches with confidence and ease. I feel as if June would be the perfect weekend mount for someone wanting to get away from the busy lifestyle and just have a nice simple horse to relax and hangout on. As June is not complicated to ride or handle. She is very simple to ride and it doesn’t take a skilled person to get along with her. My dad who is 68 has been the one riding June and he has taken her on many trail rides from NC to Oklahoma. His biggest compliment on June is that she is very safe and not hard to get along with.
