STOP! And Check Him Out! He RIDES & DRIVES!!!! He RANCHES & Knows some Tricks! Knight Ryder – 3yr old – Percheron/Morgan – Gelding – 15hands He has a lot of things going for him. He has experience with driving, trails, arena, ranch, and the obstacle course. He is a jack of all trades. Just check his video out for yourself he’s impressive for a horse his age and because he is young, he has all of his life ahead of him. He can go into any direction you want to point him. Plus, he’s a nice stout size enough to carry a taller or heavier rider yet not overly big for a shorter person like me. He currently stands at 15 hands we expect him to finish growing at 15.1-15.2 hands tall. For driving he stands still for getting on/off the cart, stop signs, and hitching/unhitching. He doesn’t care about traffic he’s had big semis go by and it does not bother him one bit. Knows the commands back, whoa, easy, walk on, and trot. As long as you know how to drive, you’ll love him. Because he is still young, I would say he needs someone that knows how to drive already not for someone learning. However, after he has some more miles under harness, I would say he’ll eventually make a good lesson driving horse in the future. He was started under harness last spring and he’s quiet enough that he’s been taken down some busy highways with a lot of heavy traffic and some big trucks and he’s always been really good and did everything he was asked of. For riding he also has a lot of experience there too. He’s been ranched with, so he knows how to cut a calf all on his own. You can rope off of him and hold a cow. Open gates off of his back he’s very used to the ranch lifestyle. He’s very desensitized to the rope as you’ll see in the video it doesn’t bother him one bit if it gets wrapped around his legs or under his tail. He does NOT spook easily he’s had a lot of desensitizing as well as just being a naturally smart horse with a lot of confidence. And he’s a perfect type of horse for a beginner roper like me he practically does all of the work on his own. He’s just that good that he knows his job and he does it so he’s perfect for someone that wants to just have some fun roping or learning to rope. He can do a lot better job at cutting and roping than what you’ll see in the video if he had someone more experienced on his back than me. He’s also used to getting roped himself he lets me practice throwing the lasso around his head and he’ll just stand there and let me practice on him. He has ponied other horses as well as being ponied himself. He knows how to hobble so you can go camping and hobble him at camp when you’re done riding. He is very good on the leg cues as well as his neck reining. Knows how to move off of the leg hindquarters, shoulders, side passing, and stopping off of your seat. Has a good backup. He rides off of the legs and seat well enough that you can ride without a bridle as you’ll see in the video. He’s great out on the trails will cross anything you ask creeks, rivers, logs, bridges, etc. He’s used to having a doggy friend running around his legs and doesn’t care too much about wildlife. Rides away from home alone and rides good with other horses he can go front, back, or middle. Has good ground manners stands great for the Ferrier, tacking, grooming, and mounting. He knows the come over cue so he will side pass over to any mounting block or gate or anything you use as a mounting block. He has a friendly/playful/smart personality. He is a perfect cross between the two breeds he gets that quiet gentle demeanor from the Percheron yet he still has some playfulness and the super friendly attitude of a Morgan. He’s smart like the Morgan too because he catches onto new things so easily. He knows how to lay down for mounting or dismounting. He also knows how to sit down if you have a big pile of sawdust or something for him to sit down on. To sum it all up he’s fun, awesome, and handy. He’s a horse that as long as you have some experience and know how to ride, he’s a blast to have around. He’s just so versatile and has the buttons and he’s young enough that you can continue him into any direction you want to go. His video shows it all it’s a very long video, but you’ll want to see it so grab the popcorn and drinks and sit back for the show. And don’t forget he’s this good at this age just think how good he’ll be in a few more years. I could see him eventually becoming a great lesson horse in the future. Just call if you have any questions or want to schedule to come see him.
