Grade He is broke to ride, but due to inconsistent schedules, I'm calling him green broke. He is learning to neck rein, yields his hinds, he's learning to side pass, has a fantastic stop on him. Walk, trot, canter. He is definitely more whoa than go. Hes been ridden in a bosal, side pull, halter, and bit. I'm going to say due to being green, he does need a confident rider. I have had beginners ride him with no issues, and toddlers have been lead lined, but i am offering him as a confident rider level or above. He'll pony another horse or be ponied. He has no rear, buck, or bolt. My brother has stood up on his back, slid off his behind, roped him, thrown the rope off him, thrown ropes around him, exposed him to tarps, bubbles, jackets, people screaming and running around. He loves playing with feed bags. This is a horse that wants a job. We really just do leisurely rides around the arena. Whilst he doesn't mind, I know this horse would thrive where he can get things done. Ranching? He'd make a perfect fit i feel. Trails? He'd do great. He has been "ridden" through the poles for pole bending (it was at a trot by a guy who has never done pole bending himself) but he seemed to thoroughly enjoy the change in pace. I have yet to find much that phases this guy. He truly is a level headed gelding. On the ground, he adores kids. He loves everyone. He wants to be everybody's friend. He round pens, lunges, backs, ties, bathes, accepts fly spray. He'll stand for you to blanket him (i don't blanket, but he was shown how to accept them). He greets at the gate and will usually drop his head into the halter. He's a very in your pocket horse. He wants to be with people. He stands great for the vet has no care in the world while receiving vaccinations. He is still a little impatient with the farrier, but not dangerous. He is barefoot. He will load into any trailer and hauls great, with or without another horse. He has been tied in cross ties. In the herd, he's usually the middle man. He plays rough with my other gelding (a young mustang) but backs down when the boss says to. He eats peacefully with the herd. He likes certain treats, but he is only ever given the food item after work is done otherwise it's all he thinks about. He doesn't like apples or watermelon or anything sugary really. Mrs pastures (i think is the brand) horse cookies? He adores those. He also likes peppermint. He is located in blackfoot IDAHO. Asking mid fours. I'm sure I'm missing some information, I'm scatterbrained. So feel free to message with questions.
