Check Out My Resume, aka Liberty, and you will want to check out her resume because she’s the real deal! She’s a registered Friesian Morgan Sport Horse. She stands (Sticks) at 15.3 hands tall and has a heavier build with thick legs, allowing her to carry a bigger rider or pull a heavier load easily.

She checks all of the boxes she rides, drives, ranches, ropes, liberty work, tricks, etc. She is a truly special mare who has already accumulated a great deal of experience and a significant number of miles under her Cinch. Most importantly, she is SAFE, and she has NEVER offered to do anything crazy. She has always been a reliable mount.

She’s also a one-owner mare, so there are no unknowns with her. You’ll get her whole story. Liberty was born and raised here in Michigan. She was raised by a single mother who has sadly since passed away due to old age, leaving Liberty orphaned. So sad… but she didn’t let that stop her. As soon as she was 2-3 years old, she made her own way in the world, earning her keep by pulling a carriage for her humans, taking them downtown and through the busy streets, braving the crazy traffic that doesn’t slow for horses. Eventually, she decided she had enough of the carriage business and the city, so she decided to “go west.” So she struck out to earn her living on a small little ranch doing light ranch work and roping and holding those cows for her weak humans. Does her story end there? No, she retired from ranching. She didn’t want to have bow legs like all those old cowhands do. She decided to live her lifelong dream of becoming a circus horse, so she learned to perform a few tricks and put on a show for humans who are easily entertained by simple tricks, such as lying and sitting. Eventually, all the glitter and glamour fade, and she decides to hit the trail… literally. She hits the trails and became a guided trail horse, leading her directionally challenged human through the woods, over bridges, across creeks and rivers, and onto new horizons. And now she’s ready for a new adventure, and she’s never been out of Michigan, and she may decide to move into your home state next! Only you can make her dreams come true!

In the videos, you’ll see her riding around the arena without a bridle on so completely off of the legs, and that was after she hadn’t been worked in an arena setting for about a month, so you can see she remembers her p’s and q’s. She’s a very smart horse that picks up on new things quickly. She aims to please you and really gives you the best she can every time. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s pretty. The only maintenance required for this girl is her mane and tail, both of which are very thick and lush. It’s naturally wavy and thick, and it keeps growing. She does NOT need any hair extensions, just a good brush or braids. She has the Friesian movement and naturally picks up her feet nice and high in the front. The Friesian build is very stout and chunky and also has the feathering to boot.

She is an easy keeper, stands still for the Ferrier, is easy to catch, and gets along out in the herd. She stands still for mounting and knows the come-over cue, so she will sidle over to you for you to get on. She’ll also lay down for mounting or dismounting. She can also sit down if you have a pile of hay or sawdust for her to sit on. She will ride very well off of your legs enough so that you don’t need to use the bridle much. She side passes, and you can open and shut gates off of her back.

Because she’s done some ranch work, she’s very familiar with a rope and doesn’t mind if it gets tangled up anywhere on her, and she will head or heal a cow and hold it. She also hobbles; however, she also knows the command to stay, so she will just stand and stay without hobbles as well. She also knows how to follow around like a puppy dog. She’s very friendly and personable.

Out on the trails, she doesn’t mind wildlife, and she’ll cross any bridge, big or small, and any water, rivers, or creeks. She will ride in the front or back, and she’ll separate out on the trail or leave home alone. She loads right in the trailer and backs right out. She hauls great. She has a very nice rocking chair lope and an easy-to-post-to-trot. Liberty also has extensive experience with ponying young horses. She’s ponied a string of 3 at a time.

For driving, she stands good for hitching, stop signs, and getting on and off the cart. She doesn’t mind traffic, flags, things by the road, or the neighbor’s dogs barking and running out to her. She’s quite used to having a little doggie buddy follow her out on the trails. She’s quite used to the puppy antics, as Tramp will try to get her to play with him by running up to her and jumping around her legs, trying to get her to play chase. She gives him a look like he’s nuts and ignores him no matter how hard he tries to get her to play. But she still likes him enough to give him rides.

Liberty has been there and done that. She has a ton of experience, and she’s a blast to ride or drive. And it is possible that you’ll get bombarded with complements on her I have to put up with it all of the time. But seriously, she is the real deal, and you won’t want to miss out on her. She comes up to date on coggins, vet check, shots, and wormings. Please call if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit. Her papers are pending. I just sent them in a little late, but they will come, and I do have her sire’s pedigree if anyone wants to see it. Her mom is a Morgan, and her dad is a registered Friesian.
