Scarlet is a beauty that will make your eyes light up every time you look at her. Beyond her amazing looks, she has a set of skills that will impress you even more!
Scarlet is an absolutely gorgeous 6 year old bay roan mare. She is a draft cross, standing at 16.2 hands tall with a huge mane, tail and forelock and a great athletic conformation. Scarlet’s color is exceptionally beautiful and unique. Pair that with her mane and beautiful conformation and she is sure easy on the eyes. Scarlet is a half Friesian, quarter Clydesdale and quarter Quarter Horse. She has all the excellent qualities from all three of these breeds. She has the beautiful mane, feathering, grace and animation from the Friesian. Her size, thickness, and laid back attitude come from being part Clydesdale. Her ability to ride around with agility and athleticism like she does comes from the quarter horse in her. From trail riding to driving, to cattle and tricks to an amazing disposition and personality- Scarlet has it all going for her!
Our good friend bought Scarlet when she was 2 years old and he has had her since then. She has been a favorite personal horse for him and his family. There she has been trail rode, used for giving riding lessons, taken on camping trips in various places from Florida to Michigan and also given buggy rides all over- through town, down the main highways or just around the barn for family gatherings.
Scarlet has a super smooth, easy lope. She will lope circles both ways taking correct leads, she will also side pass both ways, has a one hand neck rein, a big stop and backs on command as well. Scarlet also knows a couple tricks! She will lay down at your command both from the ground or while you’re mounted. She will side pass to a mounting block or whatever you choose to mount from. She even follows you like a puppy at the command to come. She is super smart and always willing to please!
Scarlet has extensive trail riding experience and is a trail horse deluxe! She’s been trail ridden many miles by the whole family! She will go up and down steep hills with ease, through mud, ditches and deep water, over logs and through brush. Scarlet is surefooted on rough rocky terrain and has seen and ridden all of it! She will ride out alone or with a group, in the front or in the back.
Scarlet is also no stranger to the ranch life. She’s been used to check fences around the farm. She’s also helped check, move and sort cattle from time to time. She is up to whatever job you ask her to do.
Scarlet is a driving expert. She’s been driven on trails, along main highways and through all sorts of traffic both day and night. She is very sharp in a wagon or buggy and has a fancy, animated trot. She is content with walking along but is also responsive and will trot at your command. (This goes for riding or driving!) She has even been driven on trails in Florida with the whole family riding along. She sure isn’t afraid of a days worth of work.
Scarlet is easy to catch, she will come to you when you call. She gets along well with other horses and barn animals. She is clean and quiet in the stall. She stands patiently for the farrier and in the cross ties. She loads and hauls wonderfully and loves a bath. She’s been exposed to wildlife such as deer, turkey and squirrel as well.
Scarlet is a sweet, gentle mare with loads of experience and potential. Outside of being a great family horse, we also believe she could really succeed in the English world whether it be jumping, dressage or show- her potential really is unlimited.
