Delta is a 5 year old Quarter Horse x Draft standing 15.2 hands high. Not only is Delta easy on the eyes, he is a safe, well rounded, compact horse that is happy doing any job. He has a nice uphill build to help his rider feel more secure, and is built sturdy enough to take up a taller riders leg, while still being close enough to the ground for a rider that doesn't want that massive warmblood feel. He has been introduced to the cross country course, gone on hunter paces, and enjoys hacking out after lessons. He is polite, gentle, and literally falls asleep being clipped and braided. Delta has the right amount of whoa and go. He has enough motor, when asked, to excel in the dressage or working equitation disciplines; while being forgiving and gentle for amateurs and the lesson kids to be able to learn and grow with.
•
In the ring, Delta is easy to ride. He’s forward thinking enough to do well in the dressage, western dressage, or working equitation disciplines - yet forgiving enough for amateurs and kids to take lessons on. He has three comfortable and easy to sit gaits. Again, perfect for the rider that wants a flashy horse without the bouncy suspension of a big warmblood. He naturally carries himself well and is easy to get round in the bridle. Delta has a good foundation of lateral work, and will be a breeze to bring up the levels if you desire. He has solid walk to canter, and trot to canter transitions, and has begun schooling flying changes. The kids ride him in their lessons, and love take him out on hacks afterward. They all trot around and jump logs, coupes, and brush around the farm.
•
On the trails, Delta rides alone or in a group. He crosses streams, logs, and goes up and down hills. He rides alone just fine, and in a group, though most of his trail miles are in a group setting and on hunter paces. He loads right up onto the trailer, he is polite and mannerly. He is safe and stress free loading and traveling with him on your own.
•
In the barn, Delta is polite and well mannered. He loves to form a bond with his person, and would be a great candidate to do some liberty work with. He lives out 24/7 weather permitting, but is a good boy when stalled too. Delta has no vices and is an easy keeper that gets along well with his people and other horses.
